Basic Function To oversee and purchase products and materials cost effectively for the branches within the region, while maintaining a balance of inventory in relation to sales. Responsibilities Purchases and controls inventory of all products for Branch Office. Checks stock and replenishes as needed. Continually monitors (non-moving) items Accounts for and reacts quickly to all back-orders and transfers while maintaining minimal lead time. Reviews ROR (Recommended Order Reports) and makes decisions on orders and quantities. Line Buy Maintenance follow-up weekly. Continually follows strategic inventory plan, watching for trends. Scrutinizes transfers and purchase order variances. Reconciles Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports, checking for accuracy. Negotiates pricing and maintains relationships with vendors. Continually utilizes sourcing techniques to obtain better pricing, material, etc. Continually maintains relationship with Sales Department. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1-2 years Purchasing experience Product/plastics industry knowledge a plus Experience on computerized purchasing system Extremely detail oriented and organized Strong negotiating expertise Excellent communication to include vendors & inside staff (Warehouse, Sales and Management) Ability to prioritize and make decisions Strong interpersonal skills Some college/AA Degree preferred Required Skills Strong math aptitude Typing 45-50 wpm 10-key by touch Computer skills Ryan Herco Flow Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
